Security operatives eliminate Lakurawa kingpin in Kebbi

A combined team of security operatives and vigilance group members has eliminated Maigemu, a notorious Lakurawa kingpin, in Kebbi State.

Counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama disclosed this on Friday via his X handle, stating that intelligence sources confirmed Maigemu was neutralized on Thursday after a fierce gun battle in Kuncin Baba, Arewa Local Government Area.

His elimination follows Governor Nasir Idris’ recent visit to Bagiza and Rausa Kade communities, where he assured residents of strengthened security after suspected Lakurawa cattle rustlers killed six people.

Makama noted that the operation was a direct result of the governor’s proactive security measures, adding that Maigemu’s corpse was recovered as evidence.
