Semenyo signs for Manchester City takes iconic No. 42 shirt
Manchester City have completed the signing of Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo, who will wear the club’s famous No. 42 jersey, previously worn by Yaya Touré.
The 23-year-old forward joins the Premier League champions in a deal reportedly worth £62 million, with an additional £1.5 million and a sell-on clause. Semenyo has signed a contract that runs until June 2031.
Semenyo, known for his pace and versatility in attack, officially joined City today and is expected to bolster Pep Guardiola’s frontline as the club competes across domestic and European competitions.
The No. 42 jersey holds special significance at Manchester City, having been worn by legendary midfielder Yaya Touré during his time at the Etihad Stadium.
