Seven passengers kidnapped in Ondo as gunmen ambush bus

Suspected kidnappers have once again struck in Ondo State, abducting at least seven travelers.

The victims were traveling in a commercial bus from the South-South region when they were attacked on Sunday along the Benin-Owo highway in Owo/Ipele.

Reports indicate that the gunmen intercepted the vehicle, forced the passengers out, and marched them into the bush, leaving their luggage behind.

According to sources, passersby suspiciously discovered the abandoned bus, prompting concern.

The kidnappers have since contacted the victims’ families, demanding a hefty ransom and threatening to kill the captives if their demands are not met.

Ondo State Police spokesperson, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the incident, stating that seven people were taken.
