A sex worker identified as Joy Kelvin has allegedly stabbed a 48-year-old man, known only as Okafor, to death at Jakande Housing Estate in Lekki, Lagos State. The tragic incident reportedly took place early Monday morning around 5:30 a.m.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the event in a statement. According to him, Okafor had brought Kelvin to his residence to spend the night. The situation escalated, and Kelvin allegedly stabbed Okafor, leading to his death.

A friend of the deceased reported the incident to the Ilasan Police Division at around 7 a.m. Police detectives swiftly visited the scene, took photographs, and transported Okafor’s body to the morgue for an autopsy.

Hundeyin’s statement read: “On October 7, 2024, at approximately 07:20 a.m., a complainant reported at Ilasan Division that at about 05:32 hours, he received a call from a friend stating that Okafor, a 48-year-old male, had been stabbed in his residence at Jakande Housing Estate, Lekki, by Joy Kelvin, a female sex worker he had brought home the previous night.

“The victim was rushed to General Hospital, Marina, Lagos, where he was pronounced dead. Detectives from the division promptly arrived at the scene, documented evidence, and transferred the body to the General Hospital Morgue, Yaba, for preservation and autopsy.”
