The ongoing feud between Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Senator Musa Kwankwaso, the national leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), was evident on Friday as they deliberately avoided eye contact at the wedding of Laila Abubakar, daughter of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, held in Abuja.

IDOMA VOICE reports that the ceremony, which united Laila with Saleh Maitala, son of former Education Minister Adamu Adamu, took place at the National Mosque.

This event followed closely on the heels of Atiku’s meeting with a delegation led by former Kaduna State Governor Nasiru El-Rufai, who formally sought Laila’s hand in marriage.

The National Mosque was filled with prominent political figures, including former Head of State Abdulsalami Abubakar, ex-governors Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Ali Modu Sheriff (Borno), Ibrahim Shekarau (Kano), and Adamu Muazu (Bauchi). Also present were acting PDP National Chairman Umar Damagum, Senator Abdul Ningi, and NDLEA Chairman Col. Buba Marwa (retd.).

During the wedding, the tension between Ganduje and Kwankwaso was palpable. When they noticed each other, both quickly looked away.

During the prayer session, they positioned themselves a noticeable distance apart, with Marwa, Abdulsalami, and Sheriff placed between them.

Attempts to obtain comments from the politicians after the event were unsuccessful as they departed the venue, accompanied by their respective entourages.
