There is nothing like Abba Moro VS John Ngbede camp – Senator Moro
The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Patrick Moro PhD, has said there is no faction in the pdp in the Benue South Senatorial District nor conflict between him and the state chairman sir John Ngbede saying that people who are peddling such speculation should stop it.
Senator Moro stated this on Sunday 3rd March, 2024 at Golden Palm, Otukpo where zone C PDP caucus converged for a follow up to the expanded caucus meeting of PDP Benue State held on the 26th February, 2024.
“Abandon individual interests and embrace the interest of our people, make sacrifices as we move on, let PDP prevail. We are all happy that Sir John Ngbede returned to be party Chairman again. We thank God we are in charge of PDP in Benue State. Ngbede and I have no different groups. We are united and we will continue to work together and support each other for the progress of our party”, Senator Moro rechoed.
“What happened during the 2023 Guber election that the pdp lost to the apc was an accident that can be avoided in subsequent elections. Zone C is the epicenter of PDP. Zone c produced one House of Representatives Member for PDP, One Senator as well as seven out of House of Assembly Members in Benue State House of Assembly”.
” In the upcoming congresses of the PDP we should allow members of the party to choose their leaders so we can return to our winning ways as usual. A few things went wrong during the 2023 elections. People started showing interest in elections to positions than the interest of their people, hence the defeat we suffered in 2023″. Going forward Senator Moro asked party members to live up to the creed of party “Power to the people” by returning the party to the people.
Earlier in his welcome address, Zone C Zonal Chairman Hon Godwin Ewulo requested for one minute silence in honour of late Hon Jane Ede who passed away recently after which he thanked Senator Moro for calling for the meeting and others who took out time out of their busy schedules to attend.
“We want to return the party to the people. We won’t impose anyone”, he said.
In his remarks, the House of Representatives Member Representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency, Pst Ojotu Ojema said he is grateful to PDP and urged party faithfuls to remain united.
“Those of us who are leaders must communicate clearly to our followers that we are one united pdpfamily. Some persons survive when there is a crisis. If you have factions as leaders, it will go down to the followers”, Ojema rechoed.
The State Chairman of PDP sir John Ngbede said there are no separate factions for Senator Abba Moro and sir John Ngbede. That those trying to cause confusion are just wasting their time. He thanked the Senator for his steady support to the party and promised that they would stand by him and support him at all times.
“Everyone who spoke here today, spoke very well. If you are saying you are from Ngbede or Senator Moro factions, you are wasting your time. Myself and Senator Abba Moro will continue to unite ourselves. We have come a long way. Let the will of the people prevail. Nobody is going to impose anyone. If there is imposition, let us know, we will cancel it”.
In their separate speeches, Rt. Hon Michael Audu the Minority Leader of the Benue State House of Assembly, Chief Christopher Aba who spoke onbehalf of Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon Ezekiel Adaji from Otukpo/Ohimini block, Hon. David Olofu from Apa/Agatu axis, Chief Ogale Ogar from Oju/Obi block, Hon Mrs Abeje Egwa the State Women leader who spoke on behalf of the women, Hon Musa Omale from Ohimini who spoke on behalf of the Zone C youths, all pledged their unalloyed supports to PDP and Senator Moro as well as the State Chairman of PDP, sir John Ngbede saying they would join forces and return the party to power come 2027 adding that they have learnt their lessons.
