Timileyin Ajayi: Salome Adaidu was abducted, not in relationship with killer – Family

The family of Salome Eleojo Adaidu, the young woman beheaded in Abuja, has vehemently denied reports claiming she was murdered by her boyfriend, Oluwatimileyin Ajayi.

IDOMA VOICE reports that in a statement, her family clarified that Adaidu, an Igala woman, was not involved in any romantic relationship with Ajayi, who is a popular gospel artist from Kabba, Kogi State.

According to the family, Adaidu’s tragic death occurred after she mistakenly boarded the wrong Keke (tricycle), which led her to be abducted by Ajayi and his accomplices.

They falsely claimed she was his girlfriend, a narrative Ajayi reportedly spread after the brutal crime. The truth, however, is that she was a random passenger who became a victim of abduction.

Adaidu, who graduated in 2023 with a degree in Library and Information Sciences from Kogi State University Anyigba, was tragically murdered in what her family described as a brutal and senseless act. Her funeral was held yesterday, where family and friends mourned the loss of the young woman.

Ajayi, who was arrested and detained in connection with the crime, is currently under investigation. The family expressed their anguish over the loss of Adaidu and condemned the false narrative spread by the perpetrator. They urged the authorities to ensure justice is served.
