Transfer: Man United prepare €110m to buy Victor Osimhen

Manchester United, the English Premier League giants, are gearing up to make an offer of €110m in a bid to secure the services of Nigeria international, Victor Osimhen, during the upcoming transfer window.

With Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS Group now in control at Old Trafford, the Premier League giants are looking at a significant overhaul of their squad ahead of the 2024/25 season.

United is preparing to make a strong statement in the transfer market, with reports emerging that they are ahead of Paris Saint-Germain and fellow Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea in the race for the Napoli striker.

As per The Independent, United is poised to submit a substantial bid in the upcoming summer transfer window.

“The Nigerian forward has 13 goals this season and played a key role in Napoli’s Serie A triumph last season. Osimhen is a target for Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and several other top clubs. He is reported to have a €110m release clause in the new contract he recently signed with Napoli.”

Despite missing a significant portion of the 2023/24 season due to injuries and his participation with Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, Osimhen has an impressive record of 14 goal involvements (11 goals and three assists) in 16 appearances in the Italian topflight league.

The 25-year-old has been in stellar form for Napoli, leading the Serie A club to their first league title in 33 years with a league-high 26 goals in 32 Serie A games last season, and a total of 31 goals across all competitions.
