Troops arrest two kidnappers, recover weapons in Plateau

Nigerian Army troops from 3 Division/Operation Safe Haven have arrested two notorious kidnappers, Bashir Mohammed and Ismail Mohammad, in Plateau State.
In a statement posted on its official Facebook page on Sunday, the Army said the operation took place on Saturday following credible intelligence.
Under Operation LAFIYAN JAMA’A, troops raided a kidnappers’ hideout at Katume High Grounds in Bassa LGA, a location reportedly used to hold victims while negotiating ransom.
During the raid, troops recovered an AK-47 rifle and an AK-47 magazine from the suspects.
The Nigerian Army stated that the arrested individuals are in custody and providing intelligence to aid further operations against their network.
The Army described the operation as a testament to the success of Operation SAFE HAVEN in combating insecurity in the region.
