Nigerian Army troops have killed two terrorists and recovered a cache of weapons during a recent operation in Kaduna State.

Acting on reliable intelligence, the troops set up an ambush along the Birnin Gwari-Manini axis.

The operation led to a fierce firefight with the terrorists, as reported in a post on X on Monday.

The Army’s statement read, “The Nigerian Army remains committed to dismantling terrorist networks across various operational theaters. In this latest engagement, our forces delivered a significant blow to the terrorists, disrupting their mission and forcing them to flee.”

The troops, stationed at Kwaga village in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, executed the ambush with precision, resulting in the elimination of two terrorists and the capture of several items, including two AK-47 rifles, three rifle magazines, one Baofeng radio, and three motorcycles.

The Army said it remained resolute in its mission to rid the country of terrorism and ensure the safety of all citizens.

“Troops are actively pursuing the remaining terrorists who sustained injuries during the clash,” the statement concluded.
