Former President Goodluck Jonathan has sent a message to Donald Trump of the United States.

Trump is on the verge of losing his seat to Joe Biden in the just-concluded presidential election in the state.

The 45th US President, who is not satisfied with the conduct of the electoral officials has called for the stopped of vote count.

Jonathan in his message urged Trump to maintain peace as his election is not worth the blood of anybody.

Jonathan conceded defeat in 2015 to President Muhammadu Buhari even before INEC made the final announcement.

He believes Trump should tow the path of peace and not be too desperate.

He wrote, “Nobody’s ambition is worth the blood of any citizen. It is better to gain honour at the cost of losing power, than to gain power at the cost of losing honour.

“At any point in time, the power of love should matter more than the love of power. This is my philosophy. I have lived it.

“It has brought great peace to both my beloved nation and I. And I recommend it to all leaders facing challenging situations, either in government, or at the polls, or even in their dealings with fellow political actors.”
