United States Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump has recounted the shooting incident at his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, which left one person dead and another seriously injured.

IDOMA VOICE reported that on Saturday, the former President was rushed off the stage during the rally following what sounded like gunshots.

Trump sustained a minor injury during the attack before the Secret Service quickly escorted him off the stage.

In a statement released on Sunday, Trump provided details about his injury, stating that a bullet pierced the upper part of his right ear.

Expressing his condolences to the families of the victims, Trump thanked law enforcement for their prompt response to the shooting. He said, “I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong as I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening.

“I want to thank the United States Secret Service, and all of law enforcement, for their rapid response to the shooting that took place in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person who was badly injured.”
