Why JAMB is yet to release rescheduled UTME results — Official

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has explained the delay in releasing the results of the rescheduled 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Although the board had earlier announced plans to publish the results on Wednesday, that release has now been postponed.

JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, said the board has not fixed a new date for the release of the results. He added that the delay was due to an ongoing review process.

According to sources familiar with the matter, JAMB has invited external experts to conduct a further assessment of the results before they are made public. Among those involved is Professor Boniface Nworgu, a renowned expert in educational measurement and evaluation.

Professor Nworgu, who has served as a consultant to JAMB and authored a book on assessment for the board, is expected to carry out an independent review of the results. He is also said to have previously served as a chief examiner for the board.

The JAMB Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, has described Nworgu as one of the top psychometricians on the African continent.

It was also gathered that JAMB has resolved to release the results of underage candidates who sat for the exam, even though those results will not be valid for university admission.
