The Senate on Wednesday gave President Muhammadu Buhari one hour to present the 2021 proposed budget to the joint session of the National Assembly.

Senate decision followed a motion sponsored by the Senate leader, Yahaya Abdullahi stating that, “the Senate and House of Representatives do sit in a joint session to receive an address by Mr. President, Commander-In-Chief, Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, 8th October, 2020 at 11.00am on the 2021 Appropriation Bill.”

Senate President said time would start counting the moment Buhari entered into the Chamber of the House.

Lawan said Buhari would not be allowed more than one hour due to COVID-19.

He urged lawmakers of the two Chambers to properly wear their nose masks and be well kitted in observance of COVID-19 protocols.

Lawan said, the entourage of Mr. President would be highly restricted compared to the previous times as part of Coronavirus observation, adding that the traditional presentation of speech, and presentation of documents would be allowed within the time given.
