A female politician from Benue State, Hon. Emama Elizabeth Oyiudu Ikwue, has formally joined the race for the Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The aspirant obtained the National Democratic Party, NDP, nomination and expression of interest forms at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja as preparations gather momentum for the forthcoming primaries.

Her entrance into the contest is already generating conversations across Otukpo and Ohimini communities, with supporters describing her as a leader with strong grassroots appeal and a passion for community development.

Addressing party members shortly after picking the forms, Hon. Emama said her ambition is driven by the desire to provide effective representation, empower young people, promote women inclusion in governance, and attract meaningful development projects to the constituency.

Political analysts believe her participation could further boost the visibility and acceptance of the NDP in Benue State as parties intensify preparations for the 2027 elections.
