Nations League: Raspadori scores as Italy defeat England 1-0

Following a 1-0 loss to Italy in the Nations League, which also matched their poorest stretch of play in eight years, England was relegated to League B.

The only important shot of the game for the hosts was curled in by Giacomo Raspadori, who took advantage of Kyle Walker’s careless defending, which allowed the Napoli forward too much room.

With only 90 minutes of soccer remaining until the World Cup begins, England’s difficulties are more pressing, and Gareth Southgate’s team did not appear prepared here.

Italy will next take on Hungary, while England will host Germany.
