2023 WWC: Banyana Banyana surrender lead to draw with Argentina

Banyana Banyana of South Africa experienced a rollercoaster of emotions as they missed the opportunity to secure their first-ever World Cup win, settling for a 2-2 draw against Argentina in an enthralling Group G encounter on Friday morning.

Coming off a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Sweden in their opening game, South Africa was determined to bounce back and take control of their World Cup destiny. Early in the match, Linda Motlhalo opened the scoring in the 29th minute, giving the African side a much-needed lead.
