Yoruba Nation activist Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has been released after two years of legal proceedings in Benin. Igboho confirmed his release through a statement shared on his Instagram handle titled “My Release in Benin Republic,” expressing gratitude to various individuals and entities for their support during his detainment.
“I want to say a big thank you to all Yoruba sons and daughters all over the world for their love and support before and after the loss of my dear mother,” Igboho remarked, acknowledging the widespread backing he received from the Yoruba community.

The Lagos State Police Command issued a wanted declaration for Benjamin Best Nnanyereugo, also known as ‘KillaBoigram,’ on Tuesday, October 10. The Instagram influencer is wanted in connection with the homicide of his 21-year-old girlfriend, Augusta Onuwabhagbe Osedion.
This announcement was made through the official Twitter handle of the Lagos state police command. Nnanyereugo, known as ‘KillaBoigram,’ is “approximately 5’9 ft tall and hails from Abia state.”

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has addressed the discrepancies in his Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) certificate. Atiku provided an explanation through his aide, Dele Momodu, in a post on his social media platform, X, on Tuesday.
In response to allegations of forgery made by members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) regarding the name “Sadiq Abubakar” on Atiku’s WAEC certificate compared to his other credentials, Momodu stated that he conveyed the accusations to the former Vice President, who clarified the situation.

A former Group Managing Director of Nigerian Army Properties Limited, Maj.-Gen. Umar Mohammed, was sentenced by a Nigerian Army Special Court-martial in Abuja on Tuesday, October 10. He was convicted on 14 out of 18 charges, including forgery, misappropriation of funds, and conspiracy related to stealing $2,178,900 and N1.65 billion belonging to the Nigerian Army Property Limited (NAPL).
Initially, Mohammed had pleaded not guilty to all the charges. However, during the resumed sitting on Tuesday where the judgment was delivered, the eight-man panel led by Maj.-Gen. James Myam found him guilty on multiple counts.

The results for the June/July 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) have been released by the National Examination Council (NECO). It was reported that 61.60% of students achieved five credits or more in English Language and Mathematics.
The announcement was made by Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NECO, at the NECO headquarters during a briefing with journalists in Minna, Niger State.

It will be recalled that the Peace Corp Bills suffered a chequered history during the tenure of former president Muhammadu Buhari who ultimately declined to assent to the bill, despite being passed several times by the National Assembly.
In his statement, Deji said; ”I am using this medium to respectfully call on President Bola Tinubu to assent to the Peace Corps Bill recently passed by the National Assembly.”

Armed men abducted four students from Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK). The abduction occurred near Angwan Kare following BCG. According to an eyewitness, the incident took place around 10:30 p.m.

The Federal High Court in Abuja has ruled to disqualify Chief Timipre Sylva, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the upcoming November 11, 2023, governorship election.
The disqualification stemmed from a lawsuit filed by a party member, Deme Kolomo, under suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/821/2023 on June 13, 2023. Kolomo contested Sylva’s eligibility to participate in the forthcoming election, citing Sylva’s prior two-time oath-taking as governor and a total of five years in office as the basis for his claim.
