Benue APC crisis: We’ll deal with you – Gov Alia warns troublemakers
Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has issued a firm warning to individuals and groups causing disturbances in the state, emphasizing that they will be held accountable under the law.
The governor made these remarks on Friday while addressing a gathering in Makurdi, the state capital, regarding the ongoing security crisis in the area.
Governor Alia reiterated his dedication to upholding security and ensuring the welfare of the state’s residents.
These comments from Governor Alia come amidst escalating concerns about insecurity in the state, which he addressed by underlining the importance of collective responsibility and condemning any actions that might incite unrest.
“As the government, we are adamant about maintaining the security of Benue State,” Governor Alia declared. “We will not tolerate any form of misconduct from any group or individual. Benue State transcends any single person, and its security is of utmost importance.”
“The security of Benue State, as well as the safety of its people and their property, is a top priority for me, and I treat it with the seriousness it deserves,” he continued.
“I urge everyone not to instigate trouble within the state. If anyone engages in acts of insecurity or disturbance, they will face the full force of the law.”
Governor Alia also reiterated his administration’s actions to address the issue of armed herders, stating, “We have engaged in discussions with various groups, and they are now complying by leaving the state.”
