‘Misplaced priorities’ – Benue residents slam Fr Alia over construction of new governor’s office amid hunger
Natives of Benue State have kicked against the plan by the state government to construct a new governor’s office.
IDOMA VOICE reports that Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has cleared the site to commence the construction of a new governor’s office designed to meet international standards.
The project, according to the state government, is part of Governor Alia’s broader vision to upgrade state infrastructure, attract investment, and foster economic growth.
However, this development comes amid the state’s inability to meet its commitment to a N70,000 minimum wage for workers.
Many natives of the state have kicked against the project, stating that it is laughable and a misplaced priority.
