KASTLEA denies death of three girls in Kaduna road accident

The Kaduna State Traffic Laws Enforcement Agency (KASTLEA) has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that three girls died in a road accident involving one of its marshals along Ali Akilu Road in Kaduna metropolis.

The incident occurred on the popular road while KASTLEA marshals were carrying out stop-and-search operations as part of efforts to enforce traffic laws and regulations.

According to the agency, the accident happened after a commercial bus driver attempted to avoid another vehicle that was being stopped by the marshals.

KASTLEA said the commercial bus subsequently overturned, leaving some passengers injured. Most of those affected were reportedly young girls who were selling roasted corn.

Following the incident, claims emerged on social media that three girls in the bus had died, while the driver was said to have suffered fractures in both legs.

However, the agency described the reports as false, stressing that no passenger died in the accident and that the bus driver did not suffer any fractures.

The Corps Marshal and Chief Executive Officer of KASTLEA, Carla Abdulmalik, urged members of the public to refrain from sharing unverified information on social media.
