Suspended Benue gov’s aide Mkor to be arraigned in Lafia for alleged sextortion, cyberbullying
Suspended Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Documentation, Research, and Planning, Dr. Aondona Mkor, is set to be arraigned before the Federal High Court in Lafia on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
Dr. Mkor was arrested by operatives of the Makurdi Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of sextortion, cyberbullying, and blackmail.
Sources told Citizen Television that his arrest, which took place in Makurdi on Friday, June 20, 2025, followed a series of petitions by female students who accused the governor’s aide of engaging in unethical and criminal conduct.
The petitioners alleged that Dr. Mkor regularly recruited slim and attractive young women for ushering jobs but demanded sexual favors as a precondition for their selection. They claimed that while engaging in sexual acts with him under pressure, he secretly recorded the encounters without their consent.
According to the reports, Dr. Mkor later used these explicit recordings to blackmail the victims, threatening to release the videos if they refused to continue the sexual relationship. It was also alleged that he distributed some of the explicit content through various messaging platforms, with some of the videos now reportedly in circulation.
The EFCC is expected to press charges related to sexual exploitation, cyber harassment, and the unlawful distribution of explicit content.
As of the time of this report, neither Dr. Mkor nor his legal team has made any public comment on the allegations.
