Access Bank Manager in Taraba linked to ICAN exam fraud as man caught sitting test on his behalf
An exclusive video obtained by SaharaReporters has revealed a case of examination fraud allegedly involving a senior banking official in Taraba State.
The footage captures a man identified as Abraham Moses caught impersonating Mr. Martins Emmanuel , who sources say is the Manager of an Access Bank branch in Taraba, during the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria ( ICAN ) examination.
In the clip, an exam supervisor interrogates Moses, who openly admits he was sitting the professional exam for Emmanuel. When asked why he was present, Moses replied:
“I am here to write an ICAN exam for Mr. Martins Emmanuel.”
He further disclosed that he lives opposite the Catholic Cathedral at Mile Six in Jalingo and even provided his phone number. The supervisor warned that impersonating a candidate in such an exam is a criminal offence.
Moses acknowledged the offence, stating he agreed to the arrangement after being contacted by one Joshua, allegedly a staff member of a Nigerian British School.
‘I Have Written Four Papers’
During the exchange, Moses confessed that he had already written four exam papers on behalf of others before being apprehended, though it was his first time taking the exam for Emmanuel.
When the supervisor asked him to repeat the candidate’s name, Moses clearly responded:
“Mr. Martins Emmanuel.”
Insider Confirms Identity
A source familiar with the matter later confirmed to SaharaReporters that Emmanuel is indeed a manager with Access Bank in Taraba.
Efforts to reach Kunle Aderinokun, Head of Media and Public Relations at Access Corporation, for comment were unsuccessful as of press time.
This incident adds to growing concerns about the integrity of Nigeria’s professional certification processes, following a similar scandal involving Sarah Enoch Adi, Taraba State Commissioner of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, who was also recently exposed in an exclusive video for hiring a proxy to write her ICAN exam.
