FCT police foil robbery, recover snatched vehicle, weapons in Abuja
The Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Command has recovered a stolen vehicle and weapons following a gun battle with armed robbers who invaded the NNPC Estate, Karmo/Life Camp area of Abuja.
The incident occurred around 3:48 a.m. on Thursday when the hoodlums stormed the estate, tied up security guards on duty, and dispossessed a resident of his black Toyota Avalon car with registration number BWR-946 DV while he was driving into the compound.
Upon receiving a distress call, a police patrol team was dispatched to the scene and pursued the suspects towards Giri Airport Road, near the Civil Defence Headquarters.
A gun duel ensued, forcing the criminals to abandon the stolen car and flee into a nearby bush.
Recovered items include the Toyota Avalon, a locally fabricated firearm, a taser, and a machete.
Police said an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
