‘I pity men with one wife, it’s like standing on one leg’ – Ned Nwoko

Ned Nwoko, the senator representing Delta North, has defended his choice to practice polygamy, offering personal reasons for his lifestyle.

In an interview with Seun Okinbaloye on Channels TV, Nwoko explained that his decision to marry multiple wives was influenced by what he described as the “difficulty of standing on one leg,” suggesting that having more than one partner provides greater balance.

The lawmaker, who is married to Laila Charani, actress Regina Daniels, Phyllis Thompson, and Chantelle Nwoko, expressed sympathy for men in monogamous marriages, saying he feels “sorry” for them.

He emphasized that he has no regrets about his decisions and believes in personal freedom when it comes to marriage.

“Just imagine being told to stand on one leg it’s difficult,” Nwoko said.

“But standing on two, three, or four gives you more balance. That’s the point I was making.

I feel sorry for those who have one wife because it’s hard to stand on one leg. I have no regrets. I’d make the same choices again. Everyone should marry whomever they want.”

The senator also described himself as a nonviolent and family-oriented man.

“I respect my wives, I love them, and I love my children,” he added.

Nwoko’s remarks follow recent controversy sparked by a viral video in which Regina Daniels accused him of domestic violence.

The senator denied the allegations, claiming the actress has been battling drug and alcohol addiction.

He also recently dismissed rumors suggesting he had taken a new wife.
