Over 100 terrorists killed as Boko Haram clashes with ISWAP in Borno
Reports indicate that approximately one hundred terrorists have been killed as Boko Haram fighters engaged ISWAP in intense battles across Borno State.
Counter-insurgency expert and security analyst Zagazola Makama, in an exclusive briefing on Monday, stated that Boko Haram appears to be gaining the upper hand, capturing multiple ISWAP camps. He added that he would share further updates, including videos and images, with his new cameraman contributing to the coverage.
Earlier, DAILY POST reported that the two insurgent groups have been fighting for control of strategic island settlements in Abadam and Kukawa Local Government Areas.
Makama revealed that the clashes took place between November 5 and 8, 2025, spanning key islands and riverine areas, including Sahel 1, Dogon Chuku, Mangari, Tumbun Gini, Tumbun Dalo, Tumbun Shanu, Mangari, and Dumba.
According to the report, Boko Haram forces, led by commanders Hassan Buduma and Mohd Hassan, executed coordinated attacks on ISWAP positions using multiple motorized boats armed with heavy weaponry. The assaults, described as “amphibious attacks in insurgent style,” saw Boko Haram advancing from Tumbun Gini through the upper river basin, successfully striking several ISWAP bases during early-morning operations.
