BREAKING: Herdsmen attack Akpachi community in Ugboju, kidnap lady, others
Suspected Fulani herdsmen have launched a deadly attack on Akpachi community in Ugboju, Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.
IDOMA VOCE gathered that the attackers stormed the village around 11:50 a.m. and launched an assault on the residents.
One person was badly injured during the attack, and it was confirmed that the assailants abducted a woman from the community.
Confirming the incident, activist and citizen journalist Meddy Olotu said: “Two brothers and a sister went to the farm and were attacked at Akpachi village. One of the brothers was badly injured and rushed to the clinic immediately. One managed to escape, but the sister was taken away.
“Right now, the sister is still with these Fulani herdsmen. As the youth leader in Ogobia stated yesterday, people cannot go to the farms anymore. Farming has been our main occupation, and now these attacks are preventing us from tending to our farms.”
The development comes barely five days after a video circulated by activist VeryDarkMan, alleging that Fulani herdsmen accused the community of killing a herder identified as Alhaji Fador.
