How to apply for Nigerian Police Recruitment 2025/2026
The Police Service Commission (PSC), in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has opened applications for the recruitment of 50,000 police constables, following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to strengthen community policing and enhance national security.
According to a statement signed by Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, the recruitment portal will officially go live on Monday, 15 December 2025, and will remain open until Sunday, 25 January 2026.
The PSC said the nationwide recruitment is part of efforts to expand the workforce of the Nigeria Police Force and improve its ability to confront emerging security threats across the country.
How to Apply
Applicants are required to visit the official recruitment portal, which becomes active on 15 December, via [www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng](http://www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng).
The portal will provide full guidelines, necessary forms, and instructions for submitting applications.
Candidates must create an account on the portal, upload their credentials, fill out the online form accurately, and submit before the January 25 deadline.
The Commission stressed that applications are free and warned prospective applicants to avoid fake websites and individuals demanding payment.
For the General Duty category, candidates must have at least five credits, including English and Mathematics, in GCE O’Level, SSCE/NECO or their equivalents, in no more than two sittings.
For the Specialist cadre, applicants must possess a minimum of four credits including English and Mathematics in not more than two sittings, alongside at least three years of relevant experience and valid Trade Test certifications.
All applicants must:
Be Nigerian citizens by birth
Be aged 18 to 25 (General Duty) or 18 to 28 (Specialists)
Be medically, physically and psychologically fit
Meet height requirements of 1.67m for men and 1.64m for women (General Duty only)
The Commission reiterated that the recruitment exercise will be strictly transparent and merit-driven. It encouraged qualified Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunity to serve the nation while assuring that no payment is required at any point.
