BREAKING: Nigerians rejoice as filling stations crashes fuel price massively
Just days after Dangote Refinery announced a reduction in its petrol gantry price, several Nigerian filling stations have slashed their fuel prices considerably.
A correspondent who visited petrol stations in Abuja on Wednesday reported notable cuts at outlets such as MRS, AA Rano, and Bovas.
MRS lowered its pump price to **N739 per liter from N910, AA Rano dropped to N840 from N910, and Bovas adjusted to N865 from N910.
This translates to a decrease of N45 to N171 per liter for motorists.
However, some stations, including Ranoil and Empire Energy, maintained their prices at N910 to N912 per liter as of Wednesday. Meanwhile, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) retail stations along Kubwa Expressway reported being out of stock at the time of the survey.
In terms of ex-depot pricing, Dangote Refinery petrol stood at N703 per liter, Pinnacle at N703, and Bovas at N708.
This move follows statements from Aliko Dangote, president of Dangote Refinery, who recently noted that the country’s fuel price should not exceed N740 per liter.
His remarks have since ignited a competitive pricing shift in Nigeria’s downstream oil sector.
Recall that just last week, Dangote Refinery lowered its gantry petrol price from N828 to N699 per liter, setting off the current wave of reductions at retail outlets.
