Benue at 50: Okoriko Abah Congratulates Governor Alia, citizens on state’s Golden Jubilee
Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo House of Representatives hopeful, Hon. Okoriko Abah, has felicitated with the Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Hyacinth Alia and the people of the state on the occasion of Benue’s 50th anniversary.
In a press statement released Tuesday, Abah described the milestone as an opportunity to reflect on the state’s progress, resilience, and unity despite past challenges.
He highlighted Benue’s agricultural wealth, cultural diversity and continued efforts toward development as reasons for celebration.
“Fifty years ago, Benue State was carved out to create opportunities for development, unity, and progress for all its citizens.
“Today, while we continue to face challenges, we can proudly celebrate the strides we have made as a state. Our agricultural wealth, our rich culture and the industrious spirit of our people remain unmatched.
“Benue has shown remarkable growth over the years. As we celebrate this golden jubilee, we must also renew our commitment to peace, unity and the empowerment of every citizen,” Abah said.
The House of Representatives hopeful called on all sons and daughters of Benue to take pride in the state’s achievements and work together to ensure a brighter future.
He urged all citizens, particularly the youth, to remain committed to fostering peace, unity and social cohesion, adding that these values are critical for ensuring sustainable growth.
Abah also called on leaders and stakeholders across the state to focus on policies and initiatives that empower communities, promote education, and enhance economic opportunities for all.
“Benue at 50 is more than a celebration; it is a call to action. We must honor the sacrifices of our founding fathers and past leaders by continuing to build a state where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive.
“Happy 50th Anniversary, Benue State! Let us celebrate our progress and commit to building a future filled with hope, prosperity, and unity,” he added.
