APC suspends Omale, Abba over alleged anti-party activities

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Iga Okpaya Ward, Apa Local Government Area of Benue State, has announced the suspension of Barr. Omale Omale and the Ward Chairman, Mr. Inalegwu Abba, over alleged anti-party activities said to be detrimental to the unity and progress of the party.

The decision was reached at a duly convened meeting initiated by the Ward Vice Chairman, Hon. Ochoechi Umoru, and the Ward Secretary, Hon. Oinu Echehoyi. The meeting was attended by 22 members of the ward executive committee, alongside key party stakeholders.

According to the ward leadership, Barr. Omale was heard in a leaked audio recording allegedly admitting to engaging in anti-party activities during the 2023 general elections and threatening to repeat such actions in 2027. The leadership described his conduct, particularly following the end of his tenure as Commissioner for Transportation and Renewable Energy, as vindictive and harmful to the party’s cohesion and electoral prospects.

The ward executives further accused Barr. Omale of using the Ward Chairman, Mr. Abba, to advance his alleged anti-party agenda within the ward. They warned that such actions, if left unchecked, could undermine the party’s chances in future elections, including the re-election bids of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Hyacinth Iormen Alia, and other APC candidates.

Consequently, the ward leadership resolved to suspend Barr. Omale Omale and Mr. Inalegwu Abba from all party activities with immediate effect. Members and loyalists were advised to distance themselves from the suspended individuals.

The ward also announced the suspension of other individuals allegedly implicated in similar activities, including Christopher Simon and Tunde Salami, among others.

The suspension decision was endorsed by 22 ward executive committee members and over 30 party stakeholders, who appended their signatures to the official documents.

Following the development, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Ochoechi Umoru, was named Acting Chairman of the APC in Iga Okpaya Ward.
