2027: There’s no opposition in Benue, majority of people are with Gov Alia – APC chieftain

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Benue State, Dr. Mark Nyitse, has declared that there is effectively no opposition in the state, insisting that the overwhelming majority of the people are firmly behind Governor Hyacinth Alia and President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Dr. Nyitse made the assertion on Wednesday while reacting to the conduct of the APC ward and local government congresses across the state, which he described as peaceful and a clear demonstration of the party’s growing strength at the grassroots.

According to him, after closely monitoring the congresses, there was no reason to doubt what he termed the inevitable reelection of President Tinubu and Governor Alia.

The university don said the APC had continued to expand its influence beyond urban centres into rural communities, noting that the growing support base across villages showed that the Benue electorate had aligned with both leaders.

He maintained that political power ultimately rests with the people, stressing that the people themselves had chosen the APC as their preferred platform.

Nyitse expressed confidence that President Tinubu and Governor Alia would sustain policies and projects capable of directly improving the living conditions of citizens, adding that continued delivery of democratic dividends would naturally strengthen the bond between the leaders and the people of Benue State.

He further stated that since assuming office in 2023, President Tinubu had remained focused on addressing national challenges and pursuing development initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.

The APC chieftain therefore urged the people of Benue State to deepen their support for both leaders, saying such backing would encourage greater commitment to attracting more developmental projects to the state for both present and future generations.

“There is no opposition in Benue State. Majority of the people are with Governor Alia and they are fully supporting President Tinubu. The few people who are in opposition are insignificant and have no political value,” he said.

“With what is on ground, 2027 will be a smooth ride to victory, and nothing can stop it,” Nyitse added.
