Unconfirmed reports circulating in international media claim that Mojtaba Khamenei, recently named as Iran’s Supreme Leader, is on life support following injuries allegedly sustained during an airstrike.

According to sources cited by the British tabloid The Sun, the 56-year-old cleric is said to be in critical condition in a hospital intensive care unit and reliant on a ventilator to breathe.

The report claims Khamenei suffered severe injuries, including the loss of at least one leg and internal wounds, during the same strike that reportedly killed his father, Ali Khamenei. However, Iranian authorities have not officially confirmed these claims.

Sources quoted in the report further alleged that Khamenei is in a coma and has not been directly involved in governing the country since the incident.

Amid the uncertainty, analysts suggest that the country’s powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) may be overseeing major military and strategic decisions.

The situation comes against the backdrop of rising regional tensions following the escalation of hostilities involving Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu, which have contributed to increased military activity across the Middle East.
