The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an investigation into the disappearance of Eunice Ameh, a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and a lawyer, who reportedly went missing after leaving work in Abuja.

According to family sources, Ameh recently began working as a Sales Manager at Blades and Butchers, a company located in the Maitama area of the nation’s capital, and had resumed the job barely two weeks before her disappearance.

The family disclosed that she left her workplace around 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2026, heading towards Life Camp, but has not been seen since then.

A family source quoted in a post shared by Instablog9ja said the missing corps member was expected to participate in her final Community Development Service (CDS) exercise the following morning ahead of her passing out from the NYSC scheme.

“She is the Sales Manager for the company and she just started two weeks ago. She was meant to partake in her last Community Development Service (CDS) as a corps member yesterday and would pass out soon afterwards,” the source said.

Confirming the development, the spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, said the police had commenced a detailed investigation into the matter following a report lodged at the Maitama Police Division.

“On the 7th of May, 2026, at approximately 6:30 p.m., one Mr Zachariah reported at Maitama Police Division, Abuja, that a staff member of his organisation, Ms Eunice Ameh, left the office premises for home on the 6th of May, 2026, at about 5:40 p.m. and has not been seen since,” the statement read.

According to the police spokesperson, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, subsequently directed an immediate and thorough investigation into the disappearance.

The command also appealed to members of the public with useful information that could assist the investigation or help locate the missing NYSC member to report to the nearest police station or contact the FCT Police Command through the Public Relations Officer on 07038979348.
