Ogbadibo 2027: Patrick Ocheya Ekre picks NDC nomination forms
Hon. Patrick Ocheya Ekre, an indigene of Ai-Odu in Owukpa, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State, has officially joined the race for the Benue State House of Assembly after successfully purchasing the Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Ekre, who was accompanied by supporters, political associates, and family members during the purchase of the forms in Makurdi on Wednesday, said his decision to contest the Ogbadibo State Constituency seat was borne out of his passion to provide purposeful representation and bring development closer to the people.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after obtaining the forms, the aspirant pledged to prioritize youth empowerment, rural development, education, healthcare delivery, and agricultural support if elected into office.
He lamented the level of hardship facing many rural communities across Ogbadibo and stressed the need for responsive leadership that would directly impact the lives of ordinary people.
According to him, the people of Ogbadibo deserve effective representation that will attract government presence, create opportunities for young people, and improve infrastructure across the constituency.
“I am in this race to serve my people with sincerity and commitment. Our youths need opportunities, our women need support, and our communities deserve development. If given the mandate, I will ensure that the voices of our people are heard at the state assembly,” he stated.
Ekre further promised to maintain close contact with constituents and carry the people along in decision-making processes, noting that leadership should be centered on accountability, inclusiveness, and service to humanity.
Supporters who accompanied him to the event described him as a grassroots politician with the capacity to unite the constituency and provide quality representation at the Benue State House of Assembly.
