Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reportedly held direct talks with Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior over a possible move to the Premier League champions this summer.

According to AS, Arteta told the Brazilian international that he would become the focal point of Arsenal’s long-term project if he joins the club.

The report added that the Gunners are prepared to build the team around the 26-year-old and are willing to offer up to €150 million to secure his signature.

Vinicius returned to Real Madrid’s pre-season camp on Monday, where he underwent routine medical examinations ahead of the new campaign.

The Brazilian is also expected to hold face-to-face talks with Real Madrid’s hierarchy this week to discuss his future at the club.

Vinicius is entering the final months of his current contract with the Spanish giants, fuelling speculation over a possible summer exit.
