‘You’re high on wee-wee’ – Sam Ode knocks Alia’s critics in Benue South

Benue State Deputy Governor, Sam Ode, has taken a swipe at those accusing Governor Hyacinth Alia of marginalising the people of Benue South, saying such critics must be “high on wee-wee.”

Ode spoke on Thursday during Governor Alia’s visit to Enone, comprising Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo local government areas, as part of the governor’s thank-you tour across Benue State.

Addressing supporters during the visit, the deputy governor dismissed claims that the Alia administration was hostile to the Idoma people or had neglected Benue South.

He pointed to projects and interventions by the administration in Enone Federal Constituency as evidence of the governor’s commitment to the area.

Ode specifically highlighted the ongoing Igumale-Agila road project, which he said would improve connectivity between communities in the constituency.

“I want to appreciate you for the road you are building from Igumale all the way to Agila,” Ode told the governor.

The deputy governor also recalled the construction of a hospital in Agila and said Alia had sent him to make a ₦10 million donation for a drug revolving scheme at the facility.

“I remember when a hospital was built in Agila. You sent me to make a donation of ₦10 million for a drug revolving scheme,” he said.

Ode further disclosed that the governor recently directed him to conduct an asset audit of the Igumale Star Factory, which he described as a cement factory.

According to him, the projects and interventions are all located within Enone Federal Constituency and contradict claims that the governor does not have the interest of the people of the area at heart.

“All these projects are within the Enone Federal Constituency.

“For those who are saying that our governor does not like our people, a Reverend Father does not hate anyone.

“A Reverend Father cannot be against the Idoma people. Our Reverend Father and governor cannot be against the Enone people.

“Those who are saying that our governor does not like our people, we know that it is as a result of ‘wee-wee’,” Ode said.

His comments come against the backdrop of repeated criticism of the Alia administration by Senate Minority Leader and senator representing Benue South, Abba Moro.

Moro has on several occasions accused Alia of marginalising the Idoma people and maintained that the governor has done little or nothing for Benue South Senatorial District.

The senator has also repeatedly challenged the administration to point to projects executed in the senatorial district to justify its claims of equitable development across the state.

Ode’s remarks on Thursday appeared to push back against such criticism, as he listed projects and interventions in Enone as evidence that the Alia administration had not neglected the Idoma-speaking part of the state.

Alia’s visit to Enone was part of his ongoing thank-you tour across Benue State.
