The Benue State Government has confirmed that the state governor, Samuel Ortom built the Tor Tiv Palace.

This has laid to rest speculations in some quarters that it was the ALGON Benue Zones A and B Chapters that built the new palace.

The Idoma Community had questioned why the government decided to splash multi-billion naira on the new Tor Tiv Palace while that of his Idoma and Igede counterparts are in tatters.

The development made some aides to change the narrative, claiming it was done by Tiv ALGON chairmen.

However, this arguments have been laid to rest by Barr. Alex Ter Alex, Managing Director of Benue Investment and Property Company Limited.

In a post on his Facebook page, Barr. Alex faulted those attacking Ortom for erecting such edifice for his king.

His post reads below;

To those whose only query with the new Tor Tiv Palace built by Governor Samuel Ortom is the economic value of the Palace, here is my take#

I am sure the Buckingham Palace had no economic value at the time it was built, but it was built anyway and all the economic value that it failed to represent at the time of its construction is reaped bountifully by the current generation in the sheer number of tourists that throng its gate year in year out.

So never mind that the Tor Tiv palace has no immediate economic value to you, I can assure you that generation next will reap the economic benefits and credit the author of the project with the appellation of the man who saw tomorrow when his peers saw only today, because the Palace will represent to them the iconic strides of this present civilization.

A leader should not take you were you want to be, he should take you where you ought to be because he seats on a higher pedestal and should see far ahead of you. That is what governor Ortom has at least done to the Tor Tiv stool and the Tiv nation at large by conceiving and executing the Tor Tiv Palace edifice. Criticism should be constructive not destructive.
