Five faculties that may be available at Federal University of Health Sciences Otukpo
As Nigerians await the official kicks off of academics activities in the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo might kick of this month, IDOMA VOICE predicts five faculties that may be available in the institution in Idoma land.
Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences
This Faculty provides the first level clinical experience in medicine; which consists five academic departments – Anatomic Pathology (Morbid Anatomy and Histopathology), Chemical Pathology, Haematology, Microbial Pathology (Medical Microbiology and Parasitological) and Pharmacology and Therapeutics.
The Faculty of Dental Sciences
This Faculty may comprise of five departments: Department of Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery, Department of Oral/ Maxillofacial Pathology, Radiology and Oral Medicine, Department of Preventive and Community Dentistry, Department of Child Dental Health and Department of Restorative Dentistry.
The Faculty of Natural Science
The Faculty of Natural Science relates to health disciplines with the vision of providing students and staff with an enabling environment and resources to exploit their potentials through teaching, learning, and research.
The Faculty of Science offers a 4-year program leading to the award of the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree. Also, all the undergraduate students that are admitted into this University pass through the science departments during their first year of study.
Faculty of Nursing Science
There are four academic departments in the Faculty of Nursing Science:
- Department of Nursing Education and Administration
- Department of Community Health Nursing
- Department of Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health Nursing
- Department of Adult Health Nursing comprising of Medical, Surgical, and Mental Health Psychiatry Nursing.
The four Departments contribute harmoniously to produce exceptional BNSc alumni.
Faculty of Allied Health Sciences
The faculty provides every student with an intensive knowledge of natural and basic medical sciences required to build a solid foundation for Applied Health Sciences.
You will therefore take courses in Faculties of Sciences and Basic Medical Sciences before settling down in our faculty for Allied Health Science courses.
