Gunmen strike again, kill 4 policemen at Enugu checkpoint
Forty eight hours after four policemen were killed inside Enugu Capital City, another four have been reported killed at another checkpoint in the outskirts of the state capital territory.
A report by the portal Everyday News this Saturday evening, February 12, 2022, quoted sources as saying that the unknown gunmen who operated in Sienna and Lexus Jeep stormed the checkpoint and gunned down the policemen on duty.
The latest incident reportedly occurred Saturday afternoon at Obeagu in Enugu South Local Government Area, the report said.
“Information on the incident was still sketchy at the time of this report but sources say about four policemen lost their lives in the attack,” the report said, adding that when the portal contacted the Enugu Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, he promised to get back but never did as at the time of filing the report.
