Benue APC crisis worsens as another aspirant rejects guber primary election
The crisis currently rocking the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue State has taken a messy dimension as another governorship aspirant has rejected the outcome of the controversial election.
Recall that a suspended Catholic cleric, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia was declared winner of the election, after allegedly polling over 500,000 votes.
One of the leading aspirants, Prof Terhemba Shija was said to have garnered about 1,048 votes.
Reacting, Prof Shija in a letter, described the exercise as a charade and unacceptable.
He vowed to use every available resource to correct the charade.
Earlier, Steve Lawani had rejected the outcome of the exercise, calling on his supporters to remain calm.
I did not participate in APC primary that produced Rev Fr Alia as guber candidate – Lawani
