Three Nigerian police officers were injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated along the Maiduguri-Damaturu road in Borno State.

The explosion, suspected to have been planted by ISWAP terrorists, occurred around 3:00 pm near Garin Kuturu village, between Auno and Jakana, as a Rapid Response Squad (RRS) patrol team was on routine duty.

The blast damaged their patrol vehicle and created a three-foot-deep crater. Bomb disposal teams secured the area, confirming no secondary explosives were present.

The injured officers received treatment at the Borno State Specialist Hospital and were later discharged.
