The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has increased the pump price of premium motor spirit following a recent price hike by Dangote Refinery.

A market check on Thursday revealed that NNPCL retail outlets across Abuja and nearby areas have raised petrol prices to N1,364 per litre, up from N1,295. This represents an increase of N69 per litre by the state-owned oil firm.

The revised pricing has already taken effect at several NNPCL stations, including those located in Gwarimpa, Kubwa Expressway, Wuse Zone 6, and Wuse Zone 4.

“We adjusted our pump price to N1,364 per litre from N1,295 this morning,” a station attendant confirmed.

Other filling stations in Abuja, such as MRS and BOVAS, have also updated their pump prices, now selling petrol within the range of N1,365 to N1,370 per litre.

This development follows Wednesday’s move by Dangote Refinery to raise its gantry price by N75, pushing it to N1,275 per litre from N1,200, citing an increase in global crude oil prices to above $115 per barrel.
