The Deputy Governor of Benue State, Engr. Benson Abounu, has been defeated roundly in his backyard.

Abounu lost his Otukpo LGA to Emmaneul Jime of the APC with a wide margin.

According to INEC, APC polled 21,584 votes to defeat PDP, which got 12,423.
