BREAKING: Tinubu nominates Kingsley Ude from replace Nnaji as minister

President Bola Tinubu has forwarded the name of Kingsley Tochukwu Ude, SAN, from Enugu State, to the Senate for screening and confirmation as a minister in his cabinet.

The nomination was read on the Senate floor by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during plenary on Tuesday. Following the reading, Akpabio referred the nomination to the Committee of the Whole for further consideration and the subsequent screening process.

This move comes after the resignation of former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, who stepped down last month amid controversy surrounding his academic credentials from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate.

Nnaji’s resignation left a ministerial vacancy and meant that Enugu State no longer had representation in President Tinubu’s cabinet. The nomination of Ude is set to fill that gap.
