COVID-19: NCDC, Benue govt give conflicting reports on number people that died

The Benue State Government has claimed that no fewer than 25 persons have died from coronavirus-related disease in the state.

This is, however, contrary to the report obtained by IDOMA VOICE from the official website of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

NCDC is Nigeria’s leading national public health institute. The NCDC is a Nigerian federal government agency under the Federal Ministry of Health.

A report on the website showed that the state recorded 601 lab confirmed cases while 74 are on admission, 512 discharged and 15 deaths.

However, the state Commissioner of Information Rt. Hon. Ngunan Addingi, while briefing newsmen after the State Executive Council in on Wednesday, said over 25 persons have so far died.

Recall that the local government chairman of Buruku, Daniel Deajir last week lost battle to the dreaded disease.
