US ICE lists 10 Nigerians for deportation over criminal offences

The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has listed 10 Nigerian nationals among immigrants facing deportation over alleged criminal offences.

The names appeared on the US Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) online register known as “Worst of the Worst”, which features individuals ICE identifies as criminal immigrants.

According to information published on the official DHS website, the Nigerians are facing allegations involving fraud, identity theft, child-related offences, drug offences and other crimes.

The 10 Nigerians listed by DHS and the offences attributed to them are:

Temitope Bashua — Wire fraud, identity theft and fraud — Allenwood, Pennsylvania.

Ojehoro Lewis — Cruelty toward a child — Conroe, Texas.

Osemudiamen Kingsley Oziegbe — Wire fraud — Louisville, Kentucky.

Daniel Oworen — Dangerous drugs — Conroe, Texas.

Raymond H. Ekevwo — Wire fraud — Oxford, Wisconsin.

Franklin Dikeocha — Sex offence against a child involving fondling — Dallas, Texas.

Johnson Ogunlana — Fraud and identity theft — White Deer, Pennsylvania.

Chukwuemeka Okorocha — Wire fraud, dangerous drugs, weapon possession and aggravated assault involving a non-family gun — Allenwood, Pennsylvania.

Tunde Korede — Conspiracy — Allenwood, Pennsylvania.

Chukwuemeka Chinye — Larceny from a banking-type institution, fraud, larceny, identity theft and conspiracy — Pollock, Louisiana.

DHS said the register was created to draw attention to immigrants it considers among the most serious criminal offenders arrested by ICE.

“Under DHS leadership, the hardworking men and women of DHS and ICE are fulfilling President Trump’s promise and carrying out mass deportations – starting with the worst of the worst – including the illegal aliens you see here,” the department said.

The publication comes amid the US administration’s broader immigration enforcement drive, which has placed increased emphasis on deporting immigrants accused or convicted of criminal offences.
