Dynamic Twins: The inspiring story of Idoma-born gospel singers, how they are conquering the world

When the worshippers’ anthem “Ohimini eh! Okpa no’gemoma/that is who you’re” was echoing in homes and churches across Nigeria some years ago, a lot of people knew the song word-for-word but did not know the voices behind the song.

Fast forward to 2020, few years later, Dynamic Twins the masked voices of “Ohimini”, dazzle in “Ohimini Remix” video as living testimonies of the goodness of God.

But, the “racks” and “plagues” did not come overnight, to understand the dynamicity of Dynamic Twins, you will have to take a journey back to where they’re coming from.

Peter and Emmanuel Obaje – collectively known as Dynamic Twins- are a contemporary Nigerian inspirational and gospel music group.

The duo hailed from Okpoga in Okpokwu Local government Area of Benue State.

They once shared their “rags to riches” story on a Facebook post aptly titled “The Power Of Divine Direction”.

“THE POWER OF DIVINE DIRECTION.

Good morning Friends and Fans of Dynamic Twins. I want to share this story to encourage someone out there who has a dream. Don’t give up on your dream.
The first pics=ture was taken sometime in 2014 and the second taken 2020.(6 years ago).Sometime 2013 while we were still living in Abuja, I saw ourselves (Dynamic Twins) in a dream singing in Lagos and I didn’t see it as anything because i felt it’s normal to see yourself doing what u love in a dream. I saw the dream repeatedly and I knew God was trying to tell me something but didn’t know how to go about it. I was bothered and decided to enquire from a pastor what the constant dream is all about. He told me, Your time in Abuja is up. God wants you to relocate to Lagos. He also gave me an illustration about how His asked Abraham to leave his father’s house and said mine is even better because God told me Lagos unlike Abraham that didn’t have a direction.
As a matter of fact, things became so rough for us in Abuja early 2014 that we couldn’t renew our rent. We were living from hand to mouth, leaving the house very early and returning back very late to avoid the Landlord regular checks to ask for rent money. It became clear to us that it’s time to move to Lagos buy the question is who will accommodate us? Made some few calls and a friend of mine said ok you can come and stay in my place. On reaching Lagos, the friend’s number was saying not reachable and later said switched off. Meanwhile, we talked that morning before leaving Abuja and he said I can come and here I am in Lagos he’s number saying switched off.

Later got a text message from him that I can’t stay there because his relative is with him. I was stranded and the holy spirit reminded me of one of my course mates back then in the university and I called him and told him I needed urgent help, luckily he came to my rescue and I told him everything how the other person promised and didn’t keep to his words, he said no problem u can come and stay with me in my family house and the only left with me home and abroad was just 3k. How do I cope with just 3k in a city I don’t know anybody? I couldn’t call my family members to send me anything out of fear because they didn’t accept my relocating to Lagos. But in all I was going through I never doubted what God has told me about our future.
In 2015, God connected me with my Destiny helper Mr and Mrs Emmanuel Akpakwu and Daniella Salome Akpakwu. They are not just My Bosses in the office but have massively supported our Music Ministry. I can’t begin to list the number of things I’ve achieved since God connected me to my Destiny helpers . This is to encourage someone out there who has a dream not to give up on your dream. And most importantly, Ask God for divine direction and you won’t regret when you follow God’s instructions.

The bible was not hallucinating when it said, “A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, loving favor rather than silver and gold.” (Proverbs 22.1) – the name and person (s) “Dynamic Twins” vindicates this bible verse.

Their dynamic personalities have seen them grow from glory to glory. Over the years, they’ve been able to secure a Chris Morgan feature on “Otobi” (with another in the work), tour Ghana, East Africa and the Republic of South Africa. And also shot videos for their songs “Grace”, “Miracle Worker”, “Full Blooded Idoma Boys (FBI)” and the latest “Ohimini Remix”.

Their highly-publicized “Miracle Worker Challenge” received entries from Philippines, India, South Africa etc.
