Public affairs analyst Paschal Oluchukwu and other chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have warned that Ebonyi State cannot afford another four years of what they described as poor governance ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The PDP stakeholders made the remarks in a statement issued on Tuesday after a meeting in Ebonyi State.

Oluchukwu said the alleged lack of effective governance in the state over the past three years should prompt residents to vote for a change of leadership in the 2027 election.

He argued that the PDP-led opposition remains a credible alternative to the administration of Governor Francis Nwifuru.

“Governance is not trial by error. You must have been tested with individual accomplishments before being entrusted with a public office,” he said.

Speaking on the 2027 election, PDP chieftain Christopher Ngwuta urged the people of Ezza Ezekuna not to be persuaded by promises from some politicians regarding future political arrangements.

“They cannot make that promise public because they don’t want our people to hold them to account. They know that they are deceiving our people, but we have to be wise and support Anyichuks because only he has the capacity to give an Ezza man power,” Ngwuta said.

Similarly, former Ebonyi State House of Assembly member Ikechukwu Nwobo alleged that the state was facing serious developmental challenges, arguing that residents should focus on improving governance rather than relying on zoning arrangements.

Nwobo said the people of Ebonyi could not afford another four years of what he described as poor leadership if the current situation persists.

“Ebonyi people cannot survive another wasted four years if things continue the way they currently are in the state,” he said.
