‘For N1bn, I’ll take you down’ — Portable dares Anthony Joshua
Nigerian singer Portable has challenged British-Nigerian heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua to a boxing showdown.
The controversial entertainer declared that he would be willing to step into the ring with Joshua if he is paid ₦1 billion.
Portable made the remark on Thursday during a face-off event ahead of his celebrity boxing encounter with streamer Carter Efe.
Boasting about his fighting skills, the singer insisted he remains the biggest name in celebrity boxing in Nigeria and claimed no one can take his title from him.
“For ₦1 billion, I’ll take you down,” the singer said while calling out Joshua during the event.
Portable and Carter Efe are expected to square off on Friday in an exhibition boxing match scheduled to hold at Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Earlier in February, Portable disclosed that he was paid ₦40 million to accept the fight against Carter Efe. He further alleged that businessman E-Money and music executive Soso Soberekon promised him ₦50 million each alongside a car if he emerges victorious.
Speaking on the upcoming bout, Carter Efe revealed that he accepted the challenge after learning that the winner would receive ₦50 million.
Portable has become known for participating in celebrity boxing contests over the years. In April 2025, he defeated Speed Darlington in a bout that generated widespread reactions online.
The singer also secured victories against actor Charles Okocha in December 2023 and Kelvin Power in February 2024.
